When someone you care about is grieving, it can be hard to know what to say or do. The truth is, sometimes there simply aren’t words that can make the hurt go away.
After losing my brother Tyler, I learned that support doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it’s a text saying, “I’m thinking about you.” A meal dropped off. Sitting with someone when they don’t feel like talking. Or simply continuing to check on them long after everyone else has returned to everyday life.
A meaningful gift doesn’t have to be expensive, either. A handwritten note, a journal, something comforting, or a small reminder of the person they love can simply say:
I see you. I’m thinking about you. You’re not alone.
That’s part of why I created Because of Tyler. I want the things we offer to carry messages of hope, comfort, remembrance, and compassion.
Our Just Breathe Journal is one of those simple reminders—to slow down, take things one moment at a time, and breathe through the days that feel especially heavy.
Our Gentle Guide thru Grief eBook was created for those navigating life after loss—a reminder that whatever you’re feeling deserves space.
Prefer them together?
We also created a Just Breathe Healing Bundle that includes both the Just Breathe journal and the Gentle Guide thru Grief eBook together at a special bundle price. Sometimes having a place to write your thoughts alongside gentle grief support can bring a little more comfort during the days that feel especially heavy.
Most importantly, remember that grief doesn’t have an expiration date. Keep checking in. Keep saying their person’s name. Keep showing up.
Sometimes your presence is the greatest gift you can give.
Because of Tyler. Always.
